Description
With the hybrid Autumn Blaze Maple you get the super-fast growth rate of the Silver Maple and the outstanding fall foliage color and super-hardiness and adaptability of the Red Maple. The leaves of the Autumn Blaze maple are larger and more deeply lobed than most other red maple varieties; green throughout the warm season but then turning to a blazing red during fall. This tree really puts on a spectacular show in the fall.
The Autumn Blaze Maple was the winner of the 2003 and 2004 Urban Tree of the Year award.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Maturing to about 50 feet tall and 35 feet wide makes Autumn Blaze an ideal choice for a shade tree that will add exceptional beauty to your landscape while also substantially increasing the value of your property. When planted on the west side of your home its shade will keep your home cooler, reducing air conditioning costs.
Spacing: 20-35′ for solid screens; 40′ or more for space between trees
Growing Preferences
The Autumn Blaze Maple is exceptionally adaptable and easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and full sun sun to part shade. Under these conditions, you can expect 3 to 4 feet added height per year. Established trees are drought tolerant.

I grew up with maple trees having lived in Canada for a good many years. This tree arrived in good condition and although I have not put it in the ground yet due to unforeseen circumstances I am optimistic that it will be a wonderful addition to my yard!——————————–I’m sure it will be! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! Thanks for the kind words and great review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
ordered two 2 gallon pot autumn blaze maples in late June- both arrived in good shape and are doing fine after planting- both were shipped by fedex, which worked well, and were very well packaged, which prevented any damage, loss of soil, or drying out. The extra care packaging and shipping these trees, and selecting trees in good condition, distinguishes this nursery from others I’ve used in the past.———————————We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come!
